Wild and Wonderful 3-D Quilts (6 hours)
Based on my book, students will use their own fabrics to learn my simple, eye-popping technique to make a small three dimensional quilt for home decor. We will discuss fabric choices, and the many options for three dimensional quilts and embellishments. Beginners welcome. Here are just two options for 3-D quilts:

Shibori Chic (1, or 4-5 session class)
Learn some of the many ways to bind, wrap, stitch, and clamp fabric in order create beautiful patterns by adding or removing color. If you don’t like some patterning you get, we will layer another pattern over it. We will require excellent ventilation and access to water for this class. The project for the one session class will be Shibori Chic T-Shirt.
Behind the Screen: A Demonstration of the Thermofax Screen (1.5 hour demonstration)
Have heard of screen printing but don’t really know what that means? Ever wonder how this easy and versatile tool works? Get a chance to see how it’s made, how to use it in your own work, and try it for yourself. Beginners welcome.
Color My Fabric (3 or 6 hour class)
The goal of the 6 hour class is twofold. We will begin by making a large set of samples of fabric hand-painted with Shiva paintstiks using many techniques. These can be used for future reference and in your own art, clothing, quilting, and craft projects. See how these techniques have been used in award-winning artwork. You will also begin or make a quilt top based on your own design or that of the instructor’s. (The 3 hour version of this class is EITHER making a small quilt top OR a set of samples.)
Supply fee: $22 Includes paintstik and a silver embellishment of your choice. Additional embellishments may be purchased for an additional fee.
Confessions of a Subversive Stitcher (one hour lecture)
Come along with me as I take you on a tour of my own work in the context of history and the quilting tradition. This is a fun, informative lecture for both art and traditional quilters.
How to Build a (Quilt) Bomb (one hour lecture)
